Richard E. Hildebrand

Richard E. Hildebrand, age 68, of Zanesville, died at 5:09am on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at Genesis Hospital emergency room, Zanesville. He was born, April 15, 1953, in Zanesville, a son of the late William and Josephine Young Hildebrand. He had worked for Roadway, was a member of Church of Jesus Christ Latter-Day Saints. He was a United States Marine, was a Teamster, and was in the Country Music Hall of Fame. Rick and his wife sang at this year’s county fair and he was known as a real craftsman who could do anything.                     

Surviving is his loving wife, Sue E. Sims Hildebrand, whom he married December 2, 2000; two daughters, Sara Christian and Angela (Mark) McDermott; two sons, Seth Hildebrand and Tony (Elayna) Rose; four grandchildren, Asia Hatfield, Tristan and Garrett McDermott and Ethan Rose; four sisters, Dottie (Jack) Wagstaff, Patty Moore, Jeannie (Frank Trapp) Schneider and Frannie Zemba; four brothers, William (Carol) Hildebrand, Bob (Pat) Hildebrand, Dave Hildebrand and Ken (Pam) Hildebrand and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Paula Marie Hildebrand and Judy Nelson.

A memorial gathering of friends and family will be held Wednesday, from 6-8 P.M. December 8, 2021 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.  No services will be held.
