Phillip H. Mills

Phillip H. Mills, 79 of Zanesville, died at 3:30 P.M. Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was born August 17, 1943, in Marietta, a son of the late Bruce Mills and Kathleen Lyons Mills Gormley. He worked for AT&T for over 30 years as a Lineman, and was a member of Zanesville First Church of the Nazarene. Phil was a member of the Muskingum Co. Cattleman’s Association, the Farm Bureau, and the Limousin Association. He was a longtime farmer who enjoyed working the land, going to farm sales, and John Deere was his tractor of choice.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Holbein Mills, whom he married August 26, 1961; two daughters, Janelle (Rob) Guentter and Jeanne (Donovan) Campbell; six grandchildren, Aubrey (Mark) Briggs, Lauren (Brandon) Wright, Shelby (Zac) Peadon, Mallory Campbell, Joel (Haley) Campbell and Ryan Campbell; five great grandchildren, Luke, Ellie, Copen, Quincy and Hattie; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie Mills and Marion Mills; and three sisters, Mary Ann Mitchell, Virginia Fleming and Jill Simoncelli.   

Friends and family may call from 11:00 A.M. till time of service at 1:00 P.M. Friday, March 3, 2023 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Dr. Steve Dupler officiating. He will be laid to rest at Williams Cemetery, Zanesville.
