Nancy Suzanne (Witchie) Arledge

Nancy Suzanne (Witchie) Arledge, 85, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, formerly of Zanesville, died at 5:00 A.M. on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at Arden Courts, Chagrin Falls. She was born January 10, 1936, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Fred and Marguertie (Reynolds) Witchie. She was a music major and choir director and taught at Logan Hocking School District. Nancy was gifted to play the piano and harp, studying under Alice Chalifoux, Principal Harpist with the Cleveland orchestra. She was also a member of the Salzedo Harp Colony in Camden, Maine. Other accomplishments include the Educator’s Hall of Fame Award in 2016 from Logan Hocking School District and was a Jennings Scholar from 1988-1989 through the Martha Holden Jennings Foundation.

She is survived by three daughters, Lisa (Carl) Sills, Amy (Dave) Shaper, and Julie (Jay) Krueger; three grandchildren, Zane and Camden Sills, and Luke Krueger; a twin sister, Barbara (Charles) Schilling; three nephews, Chuck, Joe, and Michael (Whan) Schilling.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Fred.

Friends and family may call from 10:00 A.M. until 11:45 A.M. on Friday, February 5, 2021 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, OHIO.  Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 12:00 P.M. at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 925 East Main Street, Zanesville with Father J.C.P. Sullivan as Celebrant.  She will be laid to rest at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Zanesville.
