Obituary

Michael G. Scott, 79, of Zanesville, died, Monday, April 10, 2023, at 7:14 P.M. at the Oaks of Bethesda. He was born January 2, 1944, in Zanesville, a son to Charles W. and Margaret E. (Dawson) Scott. Michael was a self-employed building contractor, an active member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church and deeply loved his family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Martha A. (Dooley) Scott; four children, Erin K. Winkelmes, Stephen M. Scott, Matthew J. (Michelle) Scott, and Audrey F.  (Jim) Swackhammer; six grandchildren, Nathan Winkelmes, Clay (Allison) Scott, Sarah Scott, Luke Scott, Kyle Swackhammer, and Connor Swackhammer; three surviving siblings, Richard Scott, Bernard (Jean) Scott and Mary Margaret (David) Thomas.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother, Charles E. Scott; and a sister Marjorie E. Hall.

A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M., Thursday April 13, 2023, at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 925 East Main Street, Zanesville with Father Sean Dooley as celebrant. Michael will be laid to rest at Mount Olive Cemetery, Zanesville.

A loving cremation will be held under the direction of the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.
