Merle J. Huntsman, 92, of Zanesville, died at 8:59 P.M. Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, Zanesville. She was born February 3, 1929 in Morgan County, Ohio a daughter of the late Elmer E. and Blanche (Perry) Hann. She was a longtime member of Central Trinity United Methodist Church and had worked for 22 years for JoAnn Fabrics. Merle also worked as a teacher for Family Life Education Program for twenty years and was a well-known seamstress.
Surviving are three sons, James R. (Trudi) Richardson, William A. (Teresa Huff) Huntsman Jr. and Richard (Tina) Huntsman; two daughters, Deidre Huntsman and Mallory “Sam” (Ron) Kelso; four grandchildren, Traci (David) Woodruff, Josh Grubb, Justin (Julie) Huntsman, and Jessica Huntsman; three great-grandchildren, Morgan Woodruff, Merisa Mills, and Maddox Gibbs; and her four-legged furry friend, Waffles.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James Paul Richardson who died in 1950 and her second husband, William A. Huntsman, who died in 1999 and two daughters-in-law, Deborah Huntsman and Donna Block.
No calling hours or services will be held. A caring farewell was conducted by BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.
