Joseph Goodrich Obituary

Joseph Aaron Goodrich, 82, of Zanesville, died at 6:30 A.M. on Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Brookdale Senior Living. He was born June 23, 1941, in Pennsylvania, the second son of the late Leo and Alice (Adcock) Goodrich. Joe earned a B.A. and M.A. in Education from The Ohio State University. He spent his career in Education, having been a Principal at West Muskingum Schools, and an Elementary School Teacher in Franklin Local Schools for many years.  Joe was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, and was a die-hard fan of The Cincinnati Reds, The Cleveland Browns, and The Ohio State Buckeyes.

He is survived by his three children: Beth (Don) Dalrymple, Leo (Lisa) Goodrich and Jim Goodrich; four grandchildren: Joe (Jessie) Dalrymple, David Goodrich (fiancée Colleen King), Jon Goodrich (fiancée Skylar Lauria) and Samantha Larrick-Goodrich; two great-grandsons, Lou and Finn Cote-Dalrymple; a sister Ellen DeWalt; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his older brother, Ernest Goodrich, he was preceded in death by his soulmate and loving wife of 59 years, Anne Elizabeth (Eyster) Goodrich.

Friends and family may call from 10:00 AM until time of Celebration of Life Service at 11:00 AM on Saturday, December 9, 2023, at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Pastor Dean Cole officiating.
