James "Moose" Burt Obituary

James “Moose” Edward Burt, 71, of Cambridge, died at 8:43 A.M. on Monday, January 27, 2020 at Genesis Hospital Emergency Room, Zanesville. He was born May 4, 1948, in Cambridge, a son of the late Glenn and Julia Sarchett Burt. He was a veteran of the United States Army serving during Vietnam War and retired from Picoma. He was a truck driver the majority of his life. Moose was a lifetime member of VFW 2901 and a fifty year member of the Moose 631. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, stock car late model racing, hunting, and fishing. In recent years he loved spending time gambling and enjoying the company of the staff and patrons at the Moose Lodge 631.  His sense of humor and laughter will be missed by everyone.

He is survived by his two sons, James (Trudy) Burt and Christopher (Jamie) Hughes; six grandchildren, Amanda R. Green, Eric Darby, Kimberly (Josh) Green, Kelsey Hughes, Camryn Hughes, and Dylan Hughes; six great-grandchildren, Brian Wells, Kamrin Green, Zachary and Logan Darby, Ryder and Jazlynn Green; a brother Walter (Janell) Burt; an aunt, Mary (Bill) Davis; several nephews and nieces; a special friend and sister-in-law, Brenda Murrey Holskey; special friends, Ben Noble, Kenny Mathews, Charlie Beaverson, Bill Berry, Colin Young, Gloria Fisher, Clifford Clark, Flipo Blair, Gorden (Debbie) Walker, Jack Gray, and Jack Warne; and special friend Sam Denver.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Judy Romine, Jane Burt, and Thomas Burt.

A Cremation has taken place and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, the area's only crematory owned by Funeral Directors were entrusted with all arrangements.
