Frederick Curry, Jr. Obituary

Frederick Arthur Curry, Jr., 68, of Zanesville died at 2:08 P.M. on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He was born July 9, 1952, in Zanesville, a son of the late Frederick A. and Jessie B. (Stoneburner) Curry, Sr. He was a United States Army Veteran serving during Vietnam and a member of North Terrace Church of Christ for over fifty years. He was a retired coal miner at Peabody Coal and then went on to retire from the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office as a corrections officer. Fred enjoyed life, going here, there, and everywhere! He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and all of the foster children that he raised for eighteen years.

He is survived by his wife for forty-nine years, Beverly (Sowers) Curry, whom he married July 10, 1971; four children, Freddie (Kimberly Shrider) Curry III, Brad (Teresa) Curry, Kimberley Darner, and Timber Curry;  ten grandchildren, Colton, Cobe, Jason, Deryk, Dalton, Kylie, Larissa, Cody, Cory, and Chase; two great-grandchildren, Scarlett and Ellie; three sisters, Janet Bussey, Alice Sines, and Carloyn Hill; his mother-in-law, Doris Sowers; and his loving furry companion, Jake.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Ruthann Marks and his father-in-law, Robert Sowers.

No calling hours or service will take place at this time. A cremation will take place.
