Forest Rollins Obituary

Forest Ruth Rollins, 97, of Zanesville, passed away at 9:28 P.M. on Tuesday, December 22, 2020, at Cedar Hill Care Center, Zanesville. She was born April 23, 1923 in Glouster (Burr Oak), a daughter of the late J.J. and Bertha Shepard. She was a member of Coburn United Methodist Church and Coburn United Methodist Women’s Circle.

She is survived by two sons, John (Faye), and Dennis (Patsy) Rollins, all of Zanesville; a daughter-in-law, Carol Lee Rollins; six grandchildren, Cindy (Chris) Nelson of Dublin, Christy (J.D.) Gutridge of Gratiot, Dedra (Wes Noland) Cameron of Zanesville, Todd (Michele) Rollins, of Mesa AZ, Ashley (Gregg) Sykes of Zanesville, and Andy Rollins of Zanesville; eleven great-grandchildren, Lacey (Orlando) Harrier of Gratiot, Carley (Tyler) German of Zanesville, Austin (Leighanne) Gutridge of Gratiot, Lindsey and Amanda Nelson of Dublin, Cole (Jaycie) Cameron of Zanesville, Lauren and Ty Rollins of Mesa AZ, Fletcher and Paisley Sykes of Zanesville, and Gage Rollins of Zanesville; five great-grandchildren, T.J. and Evie Harrier of Gratiot, Cali and Bella German of Zanesville, and Callie Cameron of Zanesville.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Homer E. Rollins, whom she married July 12, 1941 and passed away August 31, 1991; a son, Ronald Rollins; five sisters, Amy (Roy) Chappelear, Edna (Dean) Shilling, Helen (Lloyd) Whitehouse, Freda Simone, Cora (George) Schenz; two brothers, George (Elizabeth) and Ira (Inez) Shepard.

Private family services will be held at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE with Rev. Doris Flynn officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Homer at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
