Carol McCoy Obituary

Carol V. McCoy, 84, of Zanesville, died at 7:51 P.M. on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Brookdale Assisted Living, Zanesville. She was born April 2, 1936, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Paul Austin and Dorothy Virginia (McBride) Stradley. She was a retired elementary school teacher, having taught for the Zanesville Elementary and Lorain County Schools, and a member of St. James Episcopal Church.

She is survived by a step-son, Scott Allen McCoy; a step-daughter, Shawna Rae McCoy; a step-grandson, Ryan Andrew McCoy; two step-great-grandchildren, Miraya and Dawson McCoy; two cousins, Rick (Sue) Stradley and George (Sally) Stradley; a family friend, Pam Gelenius; and many neighbors and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel David McCoy whom she married February 13, 1982 and died November 19, 2017.

A Private Family Service will be held at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE with Mr. William Meaige officiating.  She will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery, Zanesville.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Muskingum County Dog Warden & Adoption Center, 1500 Newark Road, Zanesville, Ohio 43701 or to The Animal Shelter Society, 1430 Newark Road, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
