Carol C. Hoffman, 79, of Zanesville, died at 12:05 A.M. on Friday, January 20, 2017, at Helen Purcell. She was born July 19, 1937, daughter of the late Charles Wilbur and Ruth Allison Wallace Mahaney. She worked at JCPenney for twenty-nine years and also worked at Dan Cohen Shoe Store. Carol was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Church. She is survived by two sons, Stephen (Melanie) Hoffman of Westerville and Bradley (Lori) Hoffman of Delaware; a daughter, Kathleen (Shawn Ross) Hoffman of Zanesville; her loving companion, Roy McFadden of Zanesville; eleven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Elizabeth Betty Farabee Melick of Johnstown and Joan McCollum of Seffner, Florida. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon L. Hoffman, who died April 24, 1999; and two sisters, Ruth Axe and Marilyn Kerby. Friends and family may call from 2:00 -4:00 P.M. and 6:00 8:00 P.M. on Monday, January 23, 2017 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 144 North Fifth Street, Zanesville at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, January 24, 2017, with a Dominican Father officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Gordon, at Zanesville Memorial Park, Zanesville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Helen Purcell, 1854 Norwood Blvd., Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
