Brinley H. Williams Jr., 81, of Thornville, died at 6:16 A.M. on Tuesday, May 15, 2018 at his home. He was born November 20, 1936 in Canton, a son of the late Brinley H. and Eva Mae Polen Williams. He received a Bachelors Degree from Kent State University and a Juris Doctorate degree from Catholic University Law School in Washington D.C. He was a United States Army Veteran and then went to work as a civilian employee, at the Civil Aeronautics Board and then to the Federal Trade Commission as an attorney for twenty six years. Brinley was a member of Brighton Presbyterian Church, was an avid Cleveland Indians fan, loved to travel, and enjoyed cruising and boating on Buckeye Lake and loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of thirteen years, Barbara Williams, whom he married May 3, 2005; a daughter, Gwennan (John) Adams; a son, Brinley H. Williams; a step-daughter, Marcia (Tom) Ruff; two step-sons, Robert Lewis and Richard (Stacy) Lewis; two grandchildren, Tyler and Ava Adams; and two step-grandchildren, Nathan and Kamryn Lewis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolanne Williams; three brothers, John, Bill, and Robert; and two sisters, June and Elaine. Friends and family may call from 5:00 8:00 P.M. on Friday, May 18, 2018 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, May 19, 2018, with Rev. Suellen Skinner officiating. He will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Eastside Community Ministry, 221 Stillwell Street, Zanesville, Ohio 43701 or to Brighton Presbyterian Church, 771 Lexington Avenue, Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
