Bessie Strauss Obituary

Bessie M. Strauss, 95, of Zanesville, died at 7:30 P.M. on Wednesday, March 30, 2022, at her home. She was born May 1, 1926, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late John and Ivy (Moore) Vousden. She retired from Essex wire.

She is survived by two grandsons, Dr. Scott (Stacie) Hopper and Phillip (Corinna) Hopper; a son-in-law, Patrick Hopper; a great-granddaughter, Julie Hopper; special friends, Lynda King and Beth Ingram; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip M. Strauss who died in August 1995; a daughter, Kandus Hopper; three brothers, Charles, John, and Albert Vousden; and two sisters, Margoret Leffler and Mary Wheeler.

A cremation will take place under the distinct direction of BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE with no services to be held.

Memorial contributions may be made to Shriver’s Hospice, 601 Underwood Street, Zanesville OH 43701. The family would like to thank Shriver’s Hospice for all their care.
