Arieta Loraine (Barlow) West

Arieta Loraine (Barlow) West, 92, of Pickerington, formerly of Zanesville, died at 7:30 P.M. on Sunday, April 23, 2023, at home.  She was born August 26, 1930, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Mervin and Mary Olive (Beebe) Barlow. Arieta worked as a dietary supervisor at the Inn at North Hills and at Bethesda Hospital as a Dietary Supervisor. She also worked at the Convenient Food Mart. During her long career she was lovingly referred to as “Mom” by many that knew her.  She loved her Church and spending time with her family.

She is survived by four daughters, Nancy (Kenneth) Argo, Kathleen (Al) Campbell, Julie Swingle, Rita (Eric) Davis; three sons, James West Jr., Mark (Tara) West, Joseph (Elma) West; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Maxine Barlow; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her son, Daniel West; an infant son at childbirth, Louis West; one sister, Theryl Barlow; brothers, Don, Freeman and Jude Shimer; Leo, Malcolm, Russell, and Leslie Barlow.  

Friends and family may call from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 27, 2023 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at Cornerstone Full Gospel Church, 4509 Salt Creek Drive, Duncan Falls, with one hour of calling prior to service at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 28, 2023, with Pastor Steve Harrop, officiating.  She will be laid to rest at Mount Olive Cemetery, Zanesville.

Following the graveside service everyone is invited back to the church for a time of food and fellowship.
