Shoshana “Shoni” Goldstein, 82, of Zanesville, died at 5:09 P.M. on Saturday, June 13, 2026 at Genesis Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was born May 12, 1944, in Abilene, Texas, a daughter of the late Bernard and Irene (Schiffman) Goldstein. She was born with developmental disabilities early on in her life but that never stopped her from living a full life, Shoni was not expected to live past 40 years of age but up until her passing, she lived a life everyday with joy and love, making her the oldest living person with her condition in the world. She lived a rich and meaningful life, surrounded by people who cared deeply for her. Her vibrant spirit, big bright blue eyes, and warm personality touched everyone around her, proving that a life well-lived is measured by the happiness and kindness shared, not by years alone. Shoni was loved by all who knew her, especially her caregivers and friends at her group home.
She is survived by her brother, Ezra (Annette Jaffe) Goldstein; two nephews, Reuben (Jessica Feldman) Jaffe Goldstein and Sam (Isabel Murray) Jaffe Goldstein; a niece, Irena Jaffe Goldstein; and a great nephew and niece, Levi and Yael.
