Shirley (Gamble) Madigan

Shirley Madigan, 86, of Zanesville, died at 10:52 P.M. on Monday, March 1, 2021 at Genesis Hospital, Zanesville. She was born December 17, 1934, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Charles and Helen (Wood) Gamble. She retired from the Muskingum County License Bureau and loved her family dearly.

She is survived by a daughter, Becky (Doug) Wright; a son, Bruce Madigan; two grandchildren, Charles Madigan and Julia Trischman; three great-grandchildren, Ira, Kylie, and Isaiah; a brother, Charles (Patricia) Gamble; and a sister, Sherry (Rex) Thomas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Madigan, who died March 20, 1999; a granddaughter, Michaela Madigan Spangler who died November 21, 2018.

A private graveside service will be held at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, 1475 Military Road, Zanesville with a Celebration of Life Service to be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Animal Shelter Society, 1430 Newark Road, Zanesville, Ohio 43701 or to Paws with a Cause, 4646 S. Division, Wayland, Michigan 49348.
