Shellia Jeanette Arbuckle

Shellia Jeanette (Weaver) Arbuckle, 85, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2026. Born on June 17, 1941, in Zanesville, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Robert Paul Weaver and Margaret Eustacia (Farquhar) Weaver. Known to family and friends as Jeanette, she spent her life surrounded by the people she loved, creating lasting memories through her humor, generosity, and unwavering devotion to family.

Jeanette was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who found her greatest joy in spending time with family. She was known for her strong opinions, quick wit, playful sense of humor, and a stubborn streak that those who loved her knew well. Once you became part of Jeanette’s family, you were family for life.

Throughout her life, Jeanette was actively involved in her community. She served as both a Girl Scout leader and a Cub Scout leader, touching the lives of many young people through her dedication and encouragement. She was also a longtime election poll worker, faithfully serving her community for many years. Jeanette was a homemaker who later worked at AKRO Rug in Zanesville.

A woman of faith, Jeanette was a member of First Assembly of God in Zanesville. Her faith remained an important part of her life, and she continued to enjoy watching religious programming at home.

Jeanette enjoyed reading, shopping, crafting, and spending time with her family. She was known for her homemade fudge, banana cake, and other special treats. She had a deep love for animals, especially her beloved dog, Gavin, and cat, Henry, whom she delighted in spoiling. She was also a dedicated advocate for recycling and caring for the environment.

Jeanette had a special way of bringing laughter and happiness to those around her, whether through a playful exchange with family, a thoughtful gesture, or a conversation with a stranger. She believed in treating people fairly and kindly, regardless of who they were. Among the lessons she shared with her family was the simple wisdom that while you cannot change how others behave, you can choose not to be like them.

Jeanette is survived by her three children, Jim (Carla) Arbuckle, Jeff (Diana) Arbuckle, and Jennie Arbuckle; grandchildren, James (Andi) Arbuckle Jr., Cody (Kim) Arbuckle, and Hailey Chapin; great-grandchildren, Eli Arbuckle, Alex Arbuckle, and Isabella Arbuckle; and bonus grandchildren, Lileigh Spring and Nina Spring. She is also survived by the father of her children, William L. Arbuckle Jr.

She is also survived by her sisters, Barb Burke and Polly Martin, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends, as well as her cherished four-legged companions, Gavin and Henry.

In addition to her parents, Jeanette was preceded in death by her siblings, Rita Weaver, Larry Weaver, and Sandy Wiseman, and her great-grandchild, Eliza Arbuckle.

Jeanette will be remembered for her love of family, her laughter, her generosity, and her belief in treating others with kindness. Her memory will live on through the many lives she touched and the family she loved so dearly.
