Robert Lee Murgatroyd

Robert Lee Murgatroyd, 50, of Zanesville, passed away tragically and unexpectedly on June 5, 2026. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and the many lives he's touched. He was born September 30, 1975, in Zanesville, a son to Roberta (Carl) Myers and the late Danny (Kay) Murgatroyd.

Robert was a beloved father to Devin Murgatroyd, Taylor Murgatroyd, Maddelynne Murgatroyd; a cherished grandfather to Caden Tice, Kingston Murgatroyd, Benson Murgatroyd, Cruz Moore, Khi’vyn Murgatroyd, and Brentley Nemec; and he also had three bonus grandsons who he had the pleasure of loving, Braxton Moore, Khasyn Pettry and Wyatt Nemec.

Robert is the husband of Stephanie (Bennett) Murgatroyd, who he married in 2002. He is the brother of Anthony (Carletta) Helphrey and Doug (Marti) Dobbins.

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Danny Murgatroyd; grandmother, Elizabeth Schindler and grandfather, Robert Taylor.

Robert found immense joy in his passions, he was an avid bowler, always ready for a game, and loved spending time on the golf course, perfecting his swing. More than anything, he embraced his role as a grandfather, finding endless delight in his grandchildren’s laughter and milestones. Their presence brought a special sparkle to his life.

His legacy lives on through his loving children and grandchildren, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. Roberts’s kindness, humor, and unwavering love created countless precious moments that will be treasured always.

Friends and family may call from 1:00 P.M. until time of services starting at 4:00 P.M. on Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.

A cremation will take place at our locally owned and operated crematory.
