Robert Eugene “Bob” Lentz, 83, of Zanesville, died at 4:19 P.M. Saturday, July 3, 2021. He was born January 8, 1938 in Zanesville, a son of the late Rodney E. and Glenna May Bryslan Lentz. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Throughout the years, Bob was an avid singer with the Phil Nader Band and had sang at many nursing homes and churches. Bob retired as Assistant Chief of the Zanesville Fire Department after 28 ½ years of service and was a well-known home builder for over 40 years. Bob was a perfectionist in everything he did whether it was church, singing, building of homes, or helping a friend he would put in his best effort. Bob enjoyed helping people, always offering his services just for the satisfaction of helping.
Surviving are his loving wife Martha L. Garner Lentz, whom he married June 17, 1968; two sons; two daughters; seven grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters.
Friends and family may call from 6:00 -8:00 P.M. Thursday, July 8, 2021 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUENRAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE where services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 9, 2021 with Mr. William Meaige officiating. Bob will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Carr Center, 1035 Beverly Avenue, Zanesville OH 43701.
