Robert L. Karr

Robert L. Karr, 95, of Zanesville, died at 9:00 A.M. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Adams Lane Care Center surrounded by his loving family. He was born April 29, 1930, at No. 8 Holler, Crooksville, a son of the late Otis and Hildred (Richards) Karr. Robert was a 1949 graduate of Lash High School and served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He was employed as an Electrical Lineman for 36 years at American Electrical Power. He was a member of Rolling Plains Global Methodist Church, Lafayette Lodge 79 F&AM, and the Amrou Grotto, where he was part of the Clown Unit. Robert was an avid fan of Maysville High school Football and Basketball.

He is survived by his wife, Sondra K. (Atwell) Karr, who he married August 9, 1986; daughter Marsha (Robert) Cole; stepchildren Robin (Dave) Parker and James (Margaret) Donovan; grandchildren Zackary Miller, Justin Donovan, Shane Donovan, Cory Parker, Allison Parker, and special grandson Nathan Cole; great granddaughter Isabelle Binkley; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first love Shirley (Bugh) Karr; two brothers, Larry Weidig and Ronald Weidig; his stepfather Herman Weidig; and his grandparents Roy and Lillian Richards.

Friends and family may call from 1:00-3:00 pm and 5:00-7:00 pm on Friday, August 22, 2025, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Amrou Grotto #45 Services to be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am, on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the funeral home, with Rev. John Alice and Rev. Richard Newlon officiating. He will be laid to rest at Dresden Cemetery with full military honors presented by the United States Navy in Conjunction with VFW Post 1058.
