Richard Dick "Woody" Brown

Richard Dick “Woody” Brown, 92, of Zanesville, died at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family. He was born January 26, 1932, in Zanesville, a son of the late Charles R. and Blanche (Kieffer) Brown. Dick was a veteran of the United States Army serving as a Corporal in the Korean War. He was a devout member for fifty years and an Elder of the North Terrace Church of Christ, serving the church as building superintendent. He worked for Lawrence Electric for twenty-five years, for Best Way Mechanical, then retired after seventeen years as President of the Roekel Company. 

He is survived by his daughters, Holli Boetcher, and Kelli Hill; two grandchildren, Darci (Chad) Evans and Joshua Boetcher; three great-grandchildren, Samantha, Taylor, and Alex Evans; five sisters, Anna Mae Baughman, Stella Siddens, Rosemary Crabtree, Ruth Lichtner and Margaret Frazier; and one brother Ralph Brown.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his beloved wife Carole N. (Fiester) Brown who passed away, June 12, 2004; and his sister, Clara Sisk.

Friends and family may call from 1:00 P.M. – 5:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, and one hour prior to service starting at 12:00 Noon on Monday, November 25, 2024, at the North Terrace Church of Christ, 1420 Brandywine Boulevard, Zanesville with Brent Kirk and Mr. William L. Meaige officiating. He will be laid to rest next to his wife, Carole at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
