Phyllis Elaine Shifflet, 78, of Nashport, died at 12:50 A.M. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at The James Cancer Center, Columbus. She was born July 7, 1947, in Newark, Ohio, a daughter of the late Clyde “Pete” and Vivian (Johnson) Lucas. Phyllis was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps. She was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, a member of the Knights of Columbus Hall and the American Legion. Phyllis enjoyed knitting and crocheting and found deep joy in volunteering for Big Brothers & Big Sisters.
She is survived by her husband, Christopher Shifflet, whom she married June 19, 1971; two brothers, Clifford Lucas and Paul Lucas; a sister, Carol Wickline; three goddaughters, Michelle, Adrienne, and Vikki; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her sister, Linda.
Per Phyllis’s wishes a cremation will take place under the direction of the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.
