Pamela Jo Newman

Pam Newman, 69, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2026, at Willow Haven Hospice after a short illness. She was born on January 25, 1957, in Coshocton, Ohio, a daughter of George and Gladys Newman.

Pam enjoyed spending time with her family and her dogs. She was known for her loud, outgoing personality and seemed to know just about everyone. If she didn't know someone personally, chances were she would say she was somehow related to them. Pam was never afraid to speak her mind, and those who knew her knew she was going to tell you exactly what she thought.

Her grandchildren will always remember her special way of showing affection, often calling them curse words out of love. If Pam was cussing at you, chances were it was just her way of showing how much she loved you.

Some of Pam's favorite things to do were taking long car rides with her dogs and grandchildren, going junking, and spending time outdoors. She enjoyed fishing, walking her dog Scrappy, and bringing her grandchildren along on her trips. Even the simplest outings gave her family memories they will always have.

Pam had a special place in her heart for her son, Brad, who was taken far too soon. Losing him was one of the hardest things she experienced, and she continued to love and miss him throughout her life.

Pam is survived by her husband of almost 50 years, Stewart Barnett, and her children, Kisha Newman (Dwayne Davis), Eugene Barnett (Staci Barnett), and Brandi Delfs (Glenn Delfs).

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Raeauna Ray, Markel Mack, Drew Jewell, Paige Barnett, Reghan Delfs, Xadrian Barnett, Rowan Delfs, Ameah Davis, Jueqetta Brickerson, and Leah Davis. Her great grandchildren include Maverick, Ryland, Jasper, Jayceon, Juelz, Jaliyah, and KJ. Other surviving family members include her sister, Nancy Barnett; her brother, George Newman; her sisters in law, Kathy Barnett (Brian Hamby), Phyliss Newman, and Linda Newman; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members. She also leaves behind her close friend, Carla Reed, along with many other dear friends.

In addition to her parents, Pam was preceded in death by her son, Brad Barnett; her siblings, Robert Newman, Kathy Newman, and Diana Newman; and her brother in law, John Barnett. She was also preceded in death by several beloved dogs whom she treated like her own children.

Pam will be remembered for her outgoing personality, her sense of humor, and her love for her family. She had her own way of doing things and wasn't one to hold back what she thought. Those closest to her will miss her and cherish the many stories, laughs, and memories they shared.

Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours for Pam at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE on Tuesday, October 27, 2026 from 5 to 7PM. A burial of ashes will take place at a later date.
