Norma Nichols, 95, of Hopewell died at 5:02PM at the Oaks of Northpointe in the loving presence of her family. She was born April 8, 1930 in Philo to Katheryn Moore Robb, and Gilbert (Roy) Robb. Norma loved to camp, stay up late at night playing cards (while cheating), and being with her family. She was lovingly known as “The Chatterbox”. Norma first started working for the Aid for the Aged, then spent many years at Equitable Life Insurance Company. She and her husband started Sweetwood Creations; where they sold cake and candy supplies, unfinished furniture, and picture framing. Norma belonged to the Zanesville Secretaries Group, the Timber Run Grange, Pomona Grange, a camp club, and was a member of Central Trinity Methodist Church.
She is survived by her two daughters, Sheryl (Dan) Hartman and Brenda Wallis, she also leaves to cherish her memory four grandchildren including Brad (Amy) Hartman, Tony (Ryanne) Hartman, Jeremy Wallis, and Ashely Wallis. She will be deeply missed by her five great-grandchildren, including Caleb Hartman, Abby Hartman, Owen Hartman, Isaac Hartman, and Kyrah Wallis.
Norma married her husband, the late Robert (Bob) Nichols, on August 7, 1949; a union that lasted 76 years. In addition to her husband and her parents she is preceded in death by her son-in-law, Dale Wallis.
Friends and family may call from 12:00 P.M. until time of service starting at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Pastor Jon Exman of Central Trinity Church officiating. She will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery by her husband’s side.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Oaks at Northpointe for taking care of Norma, especially Theresa, Jodi, and Effie.
