Naomi Satterfield

Naomi Satterfield, 90, of Zanesville, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at 7:43 P.M. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at Genesis Hospice Morrison House. She was born July 24, 1935, in Mt. Sterling, a daughter of the late Perry and Kathryn (Merkle) Brandom.

Naomi was an excellent cook and baker, whose kitchen was always filled with warmth, love, and the sweet aroma of her sugar cookies and banana nut bread. She was a member of the Zanesville First Church of The Nazarene and was a woman of deep faith, she devoted much of her time to serving her church family where she joyfully volunteered, sang in the choir, and played the organ. Her voice was a blessing to all who heard it and reflected the kindness and grace she carried throughout her life.

She was also a talented craftswoman with a creative spirit. Naomi would paint the woodworking creations made by her husband, Rodney, and together they spent many happy days attending craft shows and sharing their handmade works with others. She was an avid fan of the Cincinnati Reds and The Ohio State Buckeyes, cheering faithfully for her favorite teams through every season. Above all, she found great joy in gardening and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Daryl (Tammy) Satterfield of Zanesville; two daughters, Deb (Charlie) Buden of Cincinnati and Melissa "Spark" Satterfield of Newark; two grandsons, Matt (Jessica) Satterfield and their daughters, Sophia and Evelyn of Marshfield, Missouri and Sam (Tiffany Kloeppel) Satterfield of Gahanna; and a step grandson, Clint Frye and his sons, Wyatt and Walker of Coshocton.

In addition to her parents, Naomi is preceded in death by her husband, Rodney C. Satterfield, whom she married on August 18, 1953 and died on October 1, 2012; two brothers, Perry Brandom Jr and Gilbert Brandom; and two sisters, Ruth Hoskinson and Wilma Brauning.

Friends and family may call from 9:00 A.M. until time of services starting at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, June 6, 2026 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Pastor Steve Dupler officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband Rodney at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
