Monika (Pohl) Conkle, 82, of Zanesville, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026 at the Adams Lane Care Center, after a long battle with Dementia. She was born August 2, 1944 in Darmstadt, Germany to the late Gunther & Katharina Pohl. She met the love of her life, Charles “Buddy” Conkle when he served in the Army in Germany. They married in 1962 before moving to Zanesville, Ohio. She retired from the Terrace IGA.
She is survived by her daughters, Brenda (Jim) Webb and Heidi (Bruce) Collins; her grandchildren, Alison (Josh) Martinez, CJ and (Alex) Webb, and Tessa (Josh) Mohler; eight great grandchildren, a great-great granddaughter; a brother; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Monika was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Conkle; and a sister.
No calling hours will be held and a private graveside service will be held at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the staff at Adams Lane Care Center for the excellent care they gave Monika.
