Mona Kathryn Murdock, 91, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 14, 2024, under the care of Ohio’s Hospice at OSU Medical Center in Columbus, Ohio.
She was born January 17, 1933, in Wellston, Ohio, the daughter of Willard “Gould” and Georgia “Marie” Bethel.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Eugene “Gene“ Murdock, whom she married January 19, 1957; brothers, Richard Bethel (Pat) and Gould Bethel Jr (Jo), sister, Carole Norris (John).
She is survived by her two children; Jeff (Michele) Murdock and Linda Adams; grandson: Bradley Adams; step grandchildren: Keith (Katie) Cavote and Danielle Cavote and nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mona devoted herself to home and family. Her hobbies were reading, walking, travelling and socializing with friends. She was involved in Lions Club and Mended Hearts. She was a member of Colburn United Methodist Church in Zanesville and previously Euclid Ave United Methodist Church in Zanesville prior to its closure.
Friends and family may call from 10:00 AM until time of service at 12:00 Noon, Friday, April 19, 2024, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Pastor Mark Raaker officiating. Mona will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Eugene at Zanesville Memorial Park, 1475 Military Rd, Zanesville.
