MaryJane McDonald

MaryJane McDonald (Sellers), 90, of Zanesville, died peacefully at 5:15 P.M. on Monday, May 25, 2026, at her residence surrounded by her family. She was born June 13, 1935, in Zanesville, Ohio, a daughter of the late William Victor and Bernice (Barnes) Sellers.

MaryJane focused her early time and energy working at AEP prior to having children, and later spent many years selling AVON. Before her retirement, she worked in the catalog department at SEARS and as a receptionist for Grange and Williamson Insurance in Zanesville. She was a dedicated homemaker and actively involved in her community, sharing a deep commitment to local organizations, including Central Trinity United Methodist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Her life was centered entirely around her family, farm life, and 4-H. There was nothing she enjoyed more than a good conversation, spending time with friends and loved ones, whether hosting and helping with the annual corn maze or taking immense pride in supporting her children's and grandchildren's many endeavors over the years.

She is survived by her son, Aaron J. (Brandee Dingey) McDonald of Gahanna, and their children, Lexee (Elijah) Sweet and Logan McDonald; son, James A. (Susan Montgomery) McDonald of Zanesville, and their children, Jack McDonald and Eli McDonald; a bonus grandson, Aaron McConnell; and her sister, Sarah (Earl) Sims.

In addition to her parents, MaryJane is preceded in death by her beloved husband, James L. McDonald, whom she married August 27, 1955, and who passed away on July 11, 2014; two brothers, John Sellers and Victor Wayne Sellers; a sister in law, Anna Mae Sellers; and an infant sister, Elizabeth.

Friends and family may call from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, and one hour prior to services starting at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, May 29, 2026, with Pastor Johnny Nolan officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, James at St. Paul Cemetery, Sonora.
