Marilyn S. Swope

Marilyn S. Swope, 71, of Zanesville, passed away on September 1, 2025, at home. She was born September 24, 1953, in Columbia, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Harold R. and Virginia Marie (Roll) Hedges. Marilyn was married to the love of her life, Russell E. Swope for 26 years, who she married October 10, 1992, and was an active member of Market Street Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughter, Christa (Rob) Williamson; step daughter, Traci Hittle; two grandsons, Cody (Taylor) Swope and Brandon Hittle; great grandson, Carter Swope; sister, Judi Smith; brother, John Hedges; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Russell E. Swope, who passed away on October 28, 2018; brother, Bob Hedges; and sister, Kaye Smith.

Friends and family may call from 11:00 am until time of service starting at 12:00 NOON on Monday, September 8, 2025, at Market Street Baptist Church, 140 N. 6th Street Zanesville, Ohio 43701, with Pastor Brian Owens officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Russ at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery. All arrangements have been entrusted to the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE
