Luann (Perone) Carskadden passed away February 21, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Zanesville on November 7, 1956 and graduated from West Muskingum High School. She fought several diseases throughout her lifetime without a complaint. She was diabetic for 48 years, Polymyositis for 19 years, but succumbed to early onset Alzheimer’s after 4 years.
Luann was a devoted wife of 50 plus years to Dan (Danny) Carskadden with whom she shared a lifetime of cherished memories. Her favorite love was her children and grandchildren for which she loved attending as many sporting events and dance recitals as she could. Luann loved traveling and of course boating. She spent 21 winters in Arizona, summers her entire married life house boating on the Muskingum and Ohio Rivers, and many ocean cruises from the Caribbean to the Mediterranean. She devoted many years volunteering at numerous organizations. She was the youth director at the original Immanuel United Church of Christ for many years. She gave her time to Clothes for Kids for the Zanesville City Schools and Eastside Ministries. She was the Volunteer Coordinator for Jefferson Elementary School and Tri Valley High School, where she also volunteered as a substitute teacher.
Luann was a proud and loving mother to her three daughters: Michelle (Rob) Crockett, Lori (Doug) Moore, and Kelly (Tom) Caldwell. She found immense joy in being “Nana” to her five grandchildren - Molly Moore, Cole Crockett, Aidan Crockett, Max Moore, and Jordan Caldwell - each of whom brought her endless pride and happiness.
Besides her husband Dan, Luann is survived by her brother, Danny (Chris) Perone, her sister Suellen (Donnie) Rhinebarger, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to family, Sheryl Ross, a beloved friend and dedicated caregiver, held a special place in her life.
Luann was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard (Link) and Marie Perone, and her father and mother in-law, Dan and Helen Carskadden.
Luann will be remembered for her giving spirit, her heart for service, and her enduring love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
Friends and family may call from 5:00 P.M. until time of service starting at 7 P.M. Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with Pastor Dave Mason officiating. A private burial will follow at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be mailed to The Carr Center, Inc., a place that was meaningful to Luann at 1035 Beverly Ave. Zanesville, Ohio 43701.
