Louis W. “Butch” Lacey, 81, of Zanesville, died at 6:07 A.M. on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born April 9, 1939, in Zanesville, a son of the late Louis Leon and Betty (Rubey) Lacey. He was a graduate of Lash High School, a mechanic for Columbia Cement, had worked for Birkhimer Asphalt Ltd., and was a member of Wildwood Church of Christ. Butch loved to work on cars.
He is survived by his wife, Katherine (Long) Lacey of the home; three children, Kevin Lacey, Erin Lacey, and Dustin (Misty Paskell) Lacey; three step-children, Lawrence Craig Long, Ceslie Tamara Peterson, and Christopher Joseph Long; thirteen grandchildren, Amanda, Brandon, Kevin Jr., Zackary, Alexander, Shane, Shayla, Elizabeth, Tasia, Layla, David, Briahna, and Bailey; and two great-grandchildren, Kiley and Sophia.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Sandra Sue (Greene) Lacey who died December 27, 2015, and a sister, Wanda Bennett.
Friends and family may call from 2:00 – 4:00 P.M. on Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE where funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Monday, April 12, 2021, with Pastor Joe McFee officiating. He will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery, Zanesville.
The family requests that self-provided face masks be worn and social distancing be observed during the calling hours and funeral service.
