Larry Lee Van Allen, 82, of Nashport, passed away at 4:31 P.M. on Monday, June 2, 2025, at home. He was born April 17, 1943, in Zanesville, a son of the late Robert and Artie (Gainer) Van Allen. Larry was a proud Vietnam War Veteran and served our country in the United States Army. He retired as a shipping supervisor for Owens Corning after 38 years of service, and later worked part-time at Lowe’s. Larry found joy in being outdoors, riding his tractor, and going shopping looking for bargains. Larry was a family man and more than anything loved being a dad, papaw, and great grandpa.
He is survived by his beloved wife of almost 60 years, Mary (Durant) Van Allen, whom he married June 5, 1965; two children, Tamara Van Allen and Larry Lee (Bobbie Jo) Van Allen ll; four grandchildren, Cody (Macy), Abigail (Aaron), Nathan, and Austin; one great grandchild, Beau; a brother, Gary (Barbara) Van Allen of Florida; his dog, Oliver; his many cats, especially Clyde; and four nieces, great nephews, great nieces, and friends.
A cremation will take place under the direction of the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.
A graveside services will be held at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 18, 2025, at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery with Chaplain Tim Patton officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the Animal Shelter Society at 1430 Newark Road Zanesville, OH 43701.
