Kathleen Joan Tipton Gardner, 74, of Zanesville, died at 11:30 P.M. on Wednesday, September 11, 2013, at Willow Haven Nursing Home under Hospice care. She was born June 3, 1939, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Earl Eldon and Wilma M. Bell Tipton. She retired in 2004 from AmeriGas after 30 years, and was a member of Euclid United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband Kenneth W. Gardner, whom she married April 6, 1983, of the home; a step son Kenneth J. (Kay) Gardner of Stockport; two step grandchildren Kendra and Eric; a sister Marilyn J. Hartman of Zanesville; a niece Lisa G. Sims of Philo, who shared a birthday with Kathy; two nephews Clayton S. (Gigi) Hartman of Adamsville, and Christopher N. Hartman of Philo; and numerous great nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother-in-law Stanley "Hank" Hartman who died in 1996. Friends and family may call from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Sunday, September 15, 2013, at the Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. No funeral service will be held. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
