Janet L. Busche

Janet L. Busche, 75, of Powell, died at 12:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. She was born January 2, 1951, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Paul W. and Marjorie (Sharrock) Busche.

Janet earned her Master’s Degree in Education from Muskingum University and her undergraduate degree in teaching from The Ohio State University. She devoted 33 years of her life to Zanesville City Schools, where she served as a beloved elementary school teacher and made a lasting impact on generations of students and their families.

Janet was deeply committed to her school community, she generously gave of her time far beyond the classroom, volunteering at countless school functions, including cross country events and assisting in the press box. Her life was centered around her family, whom she cherished above all else, yet her caring spirit extended far beyond her home. Janet possessed a servant’s heart and found great joy in giving back to her community, her school, and especially the children whose lives she enriched throughout her years.

She is survived by her brother, William W. “Bill” Busche and his wife, Patricia; her godson, Joshua; two nieces; three nephews; and eleven grandnieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M.at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. A cremation will take place at our locally owned and operated crematory.
