Gregory A. Rice

Gregory A. Rice, 68, of Zanesville, passed away at home on Monday, August 11, 2025. He was born December 21, 1956, in Zanesville, a son of the late Robert Sr. and Barbara (Ritchey) Rice. Gregg worked as the produce manager of Big Bear in Zanesville for 30 years and later retired from Muskingum County Sherriff’s office as a corrections officer after 12 years of service. Gregg enjoyed farming alongside his father, tending to his rose garden, and doing yardwork. He loved his family and especially found joy in spending time with his grandchildren.

Gregg is survived by his sons, Matthew (Katie) Rice and Keith (Autumn) Rice; grandchildren, Hannah, Lainey, Gracie, Brynleigh, Kane, and Raelyn; and a cousin, Pamela Falls.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his sister Catherine Stutes.

A cremation will take place under the direction of the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. Gregg will be laid to rest at St. Paul Cemetery.
