Glenna J. (Spence) Fleming, 90, of Zanesville, died at Beckett House on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at 12:08 AM, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on November 15, 1934, in Zanesville, Ohio, the daughter of the late Edith Crystal (Knight) Spence and Clarence Brady Spence. Glenna graduated in 1952 from Zanesville (Lash) High School. She was a homemaker who loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren; her flowers; playing euchre and rummy; and her sports teams (the Buckeyes, Reds, Guardians, and Cardinals). She was a member of Rolling Plains Methodist Church. She was the last of her generation in her family.
She is survived by children Jan Ellen (Frank) Phillips, Jay Brent (Theresa Brogan) Fleming, Jerry Dean (Michelle) Fleming, and Jean Ann (Tracey) Presley; daughters-in-law Lynn Fleming and Wendi Fleming; grandchildren Jonathan Richard Fleming, Alan Brady Fleming, Bryan James Fleming, Chrystal May Priest, William Douglas Priest, Joni Nichol White, Austin Jayme Rice, Austin Dean Fleming, Aidan David Fleming, Alec Douglas Fleming, Alexander Ray Presley, Andrew James Presley, and Ana Jean Ottaway; ten great-grandchildren; and fourteen nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, Richard Fleming (2025), Glenna is preceded in death by two sons, Jeffrey Alan Fleming (2020) and James Bryan Fleming (2018); two brothers and sisters-in-law, Donald Ray (Betty) Spence and Carl Ray (Donna) Spence and one sister, Shirley June (Oliver) Vestre.
Family and friends may call from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM on Friday, October 17th, at Bolin-Dierkes Funeral Home, 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM, at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, with Pastor Jeff Howard officiating.
The family would like to give special thanks for the loving caregiving and support from the staff at Beckett House and Genesis Hospice.
