Florence M. (Whitcraft) Spencer

Florence M. Spencer, 72, of Zanesville, died at 2:57 P.M. on Sunday, October 15, 2023, at the Genesis Hospital. She was born December 12, 1950, in Newark, a daughter of the late Howard and Stella (Buchanan) Whitcraft. She had worked as a Pre-School Teacher with Leads Head Start, at the Licking County Agency, and Newark Resident Homes. Florence was Past President of the Newark Moose Lodge #499 Auxiliary, and was a dedicated Ohio State Buckeyes fan.

She is survived by her husband, Darrel L. Spencer, whom she married January 11, 1969; three daughters, Fredda Marie (David) Miracle, Darlene Lynn (Rick) Lyons and Dawn Elizabeth (Tony) Prouty; eleven grandchildren; twenty-two great grandchildren; three brothers, Howard, Charlie and Harry Whitcraft; and a sister Mary Kidd.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Jack Lucas.

A Celebration of Life will begin at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, October 22, 2023, at the Tailgate Club, 351 South 30th Street, Heath, OH 43056, and will continue into the evening. The BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, was entrusted with all arrangements.
