Florence "Helen" Dingey

Florence “Helen” Dingey, 91, of Zanesville, passed away Monday, May 12, 2025, at Genesis Hospital CCU. She was born February 22, 1934, in Caldwell, a daughter of the late Casper and Vera Samay. Helen was a devoted mother, proud grandmother and selfless volunteer. For over twenty years she volunteered her time to the Bethesda Hospital and the Red Cross, always giving her time and heart to those in need. She was known for her love of animals, especially her grand-cats, Cosmo and Mitch. Helen found joy in watching the Game Show Network, and was the number one fan of her late husband Bob, who was in the Country Music Hall of Fame in Muskingum County. Helen was always there for her family and will be deeply missed by all that loved her.

She is survived by her sons, Paul (Robin) Dingey of Michigan, James Dingey, and Stephen Dingey; granddaughters Brandi and Brooke Dingey; grandsons, Matthew and Christian Dingey; a step-grandson, Jesse Hutton, a sister, Vera Fish; two nieces, Barbie Fish and Theresa Dutton ; grand puppies, Sunshine, Sugar, Joey, Charlie, Harley, Lucy, and Winston; and grand kitties, Mitch, Cosmo, Rock n’ Roll, and Mooch.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of 51 years, Robert “Bob” W. Dingey whom she married on October 23, 1961; a sister, Margaret Rhine; and a brother, Paul Samay.

Friends and family may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of service starting at 1:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband, Bob at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery.
