Dennis W. "Jb" Moorehead

Dennis W. “JB” Moorehead, 71, of Gratiot, died at 2:40 P.M. on Sunday, April 25, 2021 at Select Specialty Hospital, Newark. He was born September 18, 1949, in Zanesville, a son of Imojean (Ankrum) Moorehead and the late George B. Moorehead. He was the owner and operator of Moorehead & Son Trucking and a member of Eagles #302 and Moose Lodge #867. He loved to spend time with his grandchildren, enjoyed golf, baseball, and football. Dennis had a heart of gold and would offer the shirt off of his back to anyone that would need it. He never met a stranger, was the life of any party, and was truly a people person.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife of fifty years, Rebecca (Watton) Moorehead whom he married October 31, 1970; a son, Dennis P. “Wally” (Heather) Moorehead; two grandsons, Parker and Preston Moorehead; and a sister, Delores (Ted) McNamara.

Friends and family may call from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 28, 2021 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE where funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 29, 2021, with Rev. Jamie West officiating.  He will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville.
