Daniel Newton

Daniel Newton, 84, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2025.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann, and their children, Kim (Sam) McLaughlin, Leslie Newton, Kevin (Julie) Newton, and Jeff (Karie) Newton. Daniel was a proud grandfather to Logan, Keagan, Lily, Makaela, Jenna, Quinn, Lauren, Cameron, and Claire.

Daniel, was a University of Illinois graduate and had a long and respected career as an Electrical Engineer with Inland Steel and shared his passion for learning as a part-time professor. Outside of work, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures, golfing, playing cards, wintering in Arizona, and most of all spending time with his family and friends.

For the past six years, we were incredibly fortunate to have him close by in Zanesville, sharing ice cream sundaes, golf outings, and many card games. His gentle humor, kindness, and unwavering love will remain with us always.

He will be laid to rest in Sun City, Arizona near his parents and brother.

We will miss him deeply and remember him with love and gratitude.

A cremation will take place under the direction of the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.
