Cynthia “Cindy” Denise Campbell went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 21, 2026; joining her beloved husband, Jack W. Campbell, after a brave battle over the past seven months with cancer. She was the cherished daughter of Virgil Ray and Rita Vandenbark, who preceded her to heaven, along with a much younger brother, Robert “Bobby” Dean Vandenbark. Cindy was a 1977 Graduate of Maysville High School and Muskingum Area Technical College in 1978. She then began her career at Genesis Hospital, where she faithfully served in various capacities for the past 48 years. Cindy was a “Go-To” person at Genesis because of her institutional knowledge and her quiet but generous nature; willing to share information and mentor others.
Much of Cindy’s volunteer activities revolved around her Zanesville Church of God; where she served for many years always lending a helping hand and providing an encouraging word. Cindy loved attending special events and a week long summer camp at the Church of God Warsaw Camp where her pineapple dump cake was famous. She and Jack Loved going to local festivals and the Amish Country was a favorite destination.
She is survived by her older brother, Jerry (Robin) Vandenbark of Nine Mile Falls, Washington. indy had a loving extended family including many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and a multitude of friends as a lifelong resident in the Zanesville area.
A celebration of Cindy’s life will be held at the Zanesville First Church of God, 1930 Newark Road, Zanesville, Ohio 43701 on April 8, 2026 at 5PM, with a dinner reception immediately following the service at the church.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation to her precious Aunt, Brenda Mackall, her co-worker and dear friend, Natalie Bender, her faithful friend Diana Roberts, and lifelong friend, Janey Tignor, who ministered to her during her cancer journey.
A cremation will take place under the direction of BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, AT OUR LOCALLY OWNED AND OPERATED CREMATORY.
