Catherine E. Starcher

Catherine E. Starcher, 90, died at 10:49 P.M. on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at Adams Lane Care Center, surrounded by her loving family. She was born November 29, 1935, in Zanesville, a daughter of late Earl and Mary (Smith) Besser. Catherine worked for over 30 years at the Lear Corporation and loved flowers, gardening, playing bingo, traveling and taking long rides but above all, she found the most joy spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughter, Sharon (Roy) Massey; three grandchildren, Janet Ewert, Troy (Sandy) Massey and Misty Massey; six great grandchildren, Brittney (Joey) Feldner, Bethney Ewert, Joshua Ewert, Stephney Ewert, Trent Massey and Alexis (Adam) Johnson; seven great-great grandchildren, Makenzie Hopper, Aiden Feldner, Bayleigh McCort, Jayleigh Corp, Sophie Johnson, Callie Johnson and Benjamin Johnson; a great-great-great granddaughter, Kehlani Cody; a brother, Bob (Pam) Besser; and two sisters, Joann Crozier and Mary McClellan.

In addition to her parents, Catherine is preceded in death by her husband, Laurence “Buck” Starcher; five brothers, Glen, Ernie, Bill, Donnie and Clarence; two sisters, Bonnie and Rose; a great granddaughter, Laken Massey-Watton; and a great-great grandson, Carson Watton.
