Carl J. Woerner

Carl J. Woerner, 73, of Pleasant City, died at 7:06 pm on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at Astoria Place of Cambridge. He was born March 16, 1952, in Zanesville, a son of the late Carl W. and Wilma Genevieve (Stiles) Woerner. Carl honorably served his country for 11 years in the United States Air Force, and worked as a Deputy Sheriff in Bexar County, Texas, for 26 years. He then went on to be a bus driver, and once he moved back to Zanesville he had worked most recently as a Greeter and in the Auto Department at the Zanesville Wal-Mart. Carl loved the peace found in the country. He truly enjoyed his time in the quiet outdoors, and could often be seen four-wheeling in the mud or helping his brother chop firewood.

Carl is survived by his siblings Carol (John Richard) Blair and Ricky A. (Sonia) Munn; five nieces; and many extended family members and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. A cremation will take place under the direction of the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.
