Billie Lee Anderson, Jr, 81, passed away in his home on February 11, 2026. Bill was born in Zanesville on November 16, 1944 to Billie Lee & Wilma (Harmon) Anderson, SR. Billie was a quiet and humble man, who loved teaching eager students. He earned his Bachelor of Education degree at Ohio University, and went on to earn his Master’s at Xavier University in Cincinnati, Ohio. After college Billie enjoyed playing tennis and racquetball and loved to go walking in his neighborhood. An avid antique collector he earned the nickname “Dollar Bill” from the various auctioneers that he’d befriended because his favorite activity was to buy all the dollar boxes. He was a big seller and loved selling items during the Route 40 yard sale.
He is survived by his sister, Vickie (Scott) Diller; his step-brother, Kevin (Debbie) Reed, and his step-sister, Tam Allwine; two sisters-in-law, Sue Frank & Rosemary Tharaldson; two brothers-in-law, John (Kathy) Frank, and Steve (Nancy) Frank, his aunt, Wanda Anderson; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Billie is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Barbara (Frank) Anderson; his daughter, Brenda Anderson, and his step-brother-in-law, Bill Allwine, as well as his brothers-in-law, Andy Frank and Lynn Tharaldson, and numerous aunts and uncles.
A cremation will take place under the direction of BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE.
