Bernice Marcella Rank

Bernice Marcella Rank (nee: Fry), 96, of Zanesville, Ohio passed away on April 13, 2026 at Brookdale Zanesville. She was born May 31, 1929, in Mohawk Village, Coshocton County, Ohio to Francis Marion and Ella Leora (Booth) Fry, the last of seven children.

Bernice worked as a cook and waitress for about 15 years. She loved playing cards with her card club, the Friendship Eight, and volunteered with the American Red Cross. She was a member of the North Terrace Church of Christ since 1986, where she served in various ministries, including planning funeral dinners, Someone Cares Ministry, Tender Loving Care Committee, Vacation Bible School, and the JOY Ministry.

Bernice was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Donald Rank; her brothers Carlos Fry, George and wife Bea Fry, Ralph and wife Jan Fry, and Robert and wife Verna Fry; her sisters Twila and husband George Hoover, and Edith Pauline Fry; her son-in-law Tom McCollister; and several nieces and nephews.

Bernice is survived by her children, son Colin and wife Gail Detty of Zanesville; daughters Susan McCollister of Zanesville, Glenda and husband Rob Rhinehart of Zanesville, and Denise and husband Audge Crawford of New Concord; eight grandchildren, Misty Skoda, Shane Detty, Michele and husband Mike Botti, Nicole Brown, Kris and wife Brandi Kane, Kurtis and wife Nerissa Kane, Michael and wife Crystal Dawson, and Todd and wife Maria Rhinehart; 17 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; two step-daughters Sarah Norris and Mary Ann Thomas; two step grandsons Ben Norris and Ted Norris; along with many nieces and nephews.

Friends and family may call from 10:00 A.M. until time of service starting at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, April 17, 2026 at BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE, with her grandson, Michael Dawson officiating. A private burial will be held at Darling Run Cemetery in Warsaw, Ohio.
