Ralph Leonard Muse, 95, of Delaware, Ohio, died at 7:55 A.M. on Friday, May 26, 2017, at Willow Brook Christian Village in Delaware. He was born January 21, 1922, in Zanesville, a son of the late George Leonard and Agnes Bebout Muse. Ralph was a 1939 graduate of Lash High School, a Veteran of the United States Navy, and retired from Matesich Distributing Company in Newark. He was an usher for fifty years at Coburn United Methodist Church, a member of the West Muskingum Lions Club, and the V.F.W. Ralph has lived at the Willow Brook Christian Village, Delaware, OH for the past nine years in an independent apartment where he made many friends. A special thank you to his closest friend, Manuel Johnson, for the many adventures the past nine years. He is survived by two sons, Douglas Irvin (Jeanette) Muse and Steven Alan Muse; four grandchildren, Ashley Marie (Noah) Hollenbaugh, Bradley Scott Muse, Brooks Alan (Baharan) and Ross Andrew Muse; a great granddaughter, Ava Lynette Hollenbaugh; brother-in-law Charles (Arlene) Irvin and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Mae Irvin Muse, whom he married April 20, 1947 and died March 2007; and two sisters, Virginia Saad and Frances Moore. Friends and family may call from 2:00 4:00 and 6:00 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday, May 30, 2017 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE and one hour prior to funeral services which will be held at Coburn United Methodist Church, 3618 Maple Avenue, Zanesville, at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, May 31, 2017, with Pastor Justin Williams officiating. He will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery, Zanesville where full Military Honors will be accorded to him by the United States Navy in conjunction with the VFW George Selsam Post 1058 and the American Legion Post 29. The family wants to thank Grady ED, 3 East, Ohio Health Hospice, and any other staff that helped at Grady and everyone at Willow Brook.
