Larry Weidig Obituary

Larry L. Weidig, 79, of Zanesville, died at 3:52 P.M. on Thursday, June 21, 2018, at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus. He was born December 2, 1938, in Zanesville, to the late Herman and Hildred Richards Weidig. He was a Korean Conflict Veteran in the United States Navy from 1955-1960 and worked on Route 70 through Zanesville and the reclamation for Peabody Coal at Broken Arrow and Simco strip mines. Larry also worked for Todd Sands Mining and Coal Hauling and owned his own semi traveling over the road. He retired from All American Homes where he was a set up supervisor, was a life member of VFW George Selsam Post #1058 where he served on the firing squad and the American Legion #29. Larry loved NASCAR Racing and the Ohio State Buckeyes. In his earlier years, he owned Harley Davidsons. He is survived by his wife of fifty eight years, Beverly J. Stemm Weidig; a daughter, Neana (Tim Snider) Butler; two granddaughters, Lacie (Seth) Murphy and Kaylie (Brent Kirkbride) Butler; step-father, Bill Agin; half-brother, Bob (Sondra) Karr; step relatives; many friends; and his beloved dog, Sparkie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Ronnie Joe Weidig. As per Larry's request, there will be no calling hours. A Cremation-With-Care will take place and a Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, June 26, 2018 at St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 925 East Main Street, Zanesville with Father Martin Ralko officiating. A Celebration of Life luncheon will follow from 12-2 P.M. in the Social Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Nicholas Catholic Church, 925 East Main Street, Zanesville, Ohio 43701 or to the Animal Shelter Society, 1430 Newark Road, Zanesville, Ohio 43701. BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE was entrusted to all arrangements.
