Dianna Slifko Obituary

Dianna Cheryl Slifko, 69, of Westerville, died at 10:30 P.M. on Monday, March 13, 2017, at Hope Hospice, Florida. She was born July 8, 1947, a daughter of the late Gerald and Rosalie Harmon Jones. She was a 1965 graduate of Zanesville High School, attended Ohio University of Zanesville, and retired from Otterbein University in 2015. She was a proud member of the Zanesville Youth Choir and the original All Ohio State Fair Youth Choir in 1965. Dianna maintained friendships over the years with this group. Dianna was a member of the Church of the Messiah United Methodist Church of Westerville and grew up at Faith United Methodist Church of Zanesville. She is survived by her beloved husband of forty eight years, John E. Slifko; a daughter, Tina (Press) Southworth of Lehigh Acres, Florida; two sons, John Charles (Deidre) and Thomas (Kendri Mercer), both of Columbus; two grandchildren, Allie and Mitchell (Lindsey); and many nieces and nephews. Friends and family may call from 2:00 4:00 and 6:00 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, March 23, 2017 at the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME, 1271 BLUE AVENUE, ZANESVILLE and one hour prior to the funeral services which will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Friday, March 24, 2017, at Faith United Methodist Church, 1616 Blue Avenue, Zanesville, with Rev. Joy French officiating. She will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park, Zanesville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Dianna to the Susan G. Komen Foundation, 929 Eastwind Drive Suite 211, Westerville, Ohio 43081.
