Clifford Leroy Spiker, 83, of Dresden, went to be with his Lord at 2:55 A.M. Friday January 5, 2018 at Genesis Morrison House, Zanesville, surrounded by his loving family. He was born September 17, 1934, in Dresden, a son of the late Fredrick O. and Beatrice I. Poorman Spiker. He was a longtime member of Prospect United Methodist Church, currently chairman of the board and served on the Board of Trustees. He retired after 43 years of service at Burnham Corporation and was a former trustee for 12 years of Madison Twp. Clifford was a true outdoorsman that loved to fish and hunt, enjoyed gardening and wood working, and was active in the Dresden Senior Center. He loved his entire family to the moon and back. Surviving are his wife of sixty three years, Dixie C. Harris Spiker, whom he married March 13, 1954; five daughters, Carol (Nicholas) Stanojevich, Saundra (Jerry) Menning, Vickie (Rocky) Hatfield, Cecilia (Dana) Warner, and Kandy (Aaron) Green; eleven grandchildren, Charles Hussing, Kevin Hussing, Darrel (Tonya) Schultz, Craig (Lori) Hatfield, Jessica (Brent) Ray, Kendall (Eric Vorys) Rutan, Denver (Jennifer) Untied, Brandon Warner, Brittnee (Matt) George, Kasandra (Travis) Church, and Vanessa Emler; eighteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Jan) Spiker; two sisters, Jane Smythe and Virginia (Jim) Laundenbacher; a brother-in-law, Jim Wilcox; special friend Pastor Sharon Williamson; and many special nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son, Clifford L. Spiker, Jr. and a sister, Carol Ann Wilcox. A celebration of Life Service will be held at 1:00 P.M. on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at Prospect United Methodist Church, 3345 Prospect Church Road, Dresden, Ohio with Pastor Sharon Williamson officiating. He will be laid to rest at Prospect Cemetery, Dresden. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Genesis Hospice-Morrison House, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, OH, 43701 or to Prospect United Methodist Church, 3345 Prospect Church Road, Dresden, OH 43821.
