Wanda R. (Shirer) McGilton

Wanda R. McGilton, 81, of Norwich, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Hospice of Dayton, after a brave battle with brain cancer.  She was born January 20, 1943, in Zanesville, a daughter of the late Lucille and Wilmer Shirer. Wanda graduated from Adamsville High School in 1961 and she managed the Dari Twist in Dresden for 20 years. She enjoyed gardening, playing cards with her card club friends, baking cookies and pies for her family and friends. She also loved to go fishing at the farm pond with her family. She was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church in Adamsville.

She is survived by her daughter, Tammie (Barry) Sullivan; step daughters, Cheryl (Jay) Hunt, Darlene (David) Steuart, & Tina Everett; brother, Ron Shirer; grandson, Kyle(Katie) Imlay; step granddaughters, Stephanie McGilton, April Hoce; five step great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and lifelong  friends.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Charles A. McGilton on October 17, 2016; sister-in-law, Maribeth Shirer and Great Niece Kelsey Shirer.

A cremation will take place under the direction of the BOLIN-DIERKES FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY 1271 Blue Avenue, Zanesville

Per Wanda's wishes private services will be held at a later date.
